This production is a non verbal story told through movement about the history of diamond mining in Kimberly. Core to this history are the Big Hole, and the Digger’s Memorial. Commissioned to honour those who pioneered the industry, the memorial is a fountain that is made up of five life-size miners.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Kefentse Tsietsi Angel Mafafo is a dancer and actor who was born in the small town of Postmansburg. He started as a gymnast in Mmabana Taung sports and art center in 1997 before he ventured into ballet & Latin American dance. Kefentse has several gold, silver and bronze medals from his competitive career.
He is a former company dancer at Less Connexion Dance, Dance Sport, and at Dance Infinite studios. His choreography credits include Dancers are Bom (Mmabana Taung), and Rorisang (Mayibuye Arts Center Kimberley). He conceived and directed “The Evolution After Birth”. Kefentse has perforned at the South African Music Awards, South African Film and TV Awards, South African Tradition Music Awards along side LIRA, Vas vat NTANDO, Sho Majozi and Zakwe. Kefentse also worked as the assistant coordinator to Mr Bheki Ndlovu on the SATMAS. Kefentse was the only nominee for the South African Dance Awards in the Northern Cape on the best contemporary solo category in 2018. He also got involved in a global project based in Italy titled “Human Signs” by Yuval Avital. Kefentse also has a NAF Standard Bank Ovation Award acquired doing a show,”Crying Sound”, working with Lesedi Magomtso.
