MPHO “Shushu” MSOMI is 17 years old and is studies at Phoenix College in Johannesburg. He has been doing drama, dance and singing for four years and has been part of M.U.K.A Project for three years under the guidance of Brian Nhlanhla “Spider” Phakathi.

NOZITHELO “ Royalty” SIBANDA was born in 2003 and majors in acting, dance and singing. She started her art journey at the Johannesburg Inner City High School Festival in 2019. She has been working with the acclaimed M.U.K.A Project since 2020

NIGEL “TeeJay” DUBE is a 20 year old boy who made his acting debut with the M.U.K.A project in 2018. Since then he has appeared in multiple theatre productions such as (Voices of unity, I’m Sorry, and Abahlali. During his 3 year acting career, Nigel has worked with Brian Nhlanhla Phakathi AKA (Spider). Most people would recognise him as Xingelengele from the theatre production I Am Sorry). Nigel dropped out of school dropout in 2020 due to the effects of Covid 19 and he has since grown stronger in arts as it is his only passion in life.

VEZUTHANDO ASHLEY MTHOMBENI is an *African* artist who has been trained in theatre by the M.U.K.A. Project. He is a young and optimistic actor who does dance and who also plays the piano and guitar.

AMKELE “Doti” FLY is a 17 year old student currently studying Grade 11 at Phoenix College in Johannesburg. Doti is a member of the M.U.K.A Project under the mentorship of Brian Nhlanhla “Spider” Phakathi. Born in Eastern Cape in Mthatha, Doti now lives in Yeoville in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

LEHAKOE “Leeboi” RALENGAU is 18 years old and is doing Matric at Phoenix College in Johannesburg. Leeboi has been doing Drama, Dance and Music since 2019 under the guidance of Bra Spider of M.U.K.A Project.

NOKUTHULA “SP” ZWANE was born in 2006. She is a multitalented artist who enjoys acting as well as dancing. She was exposed to theatre in middle school and became a member of the MUKA Project in 2020. This is where she has received most of theatre experience.

Keitumetse Ntombikayise “Nathi” Khumalo was born in 2004 and is currently doing Matric. Nathi is a singer, dancer and actress who is a member of the M.U.K.A Project.

Brian Nhlanhla “Spider” Phakathi is a Director, Actor, Writer, Mentor and Workshop Facilitator who started
Acting, Singing and Dancing at the age of 18 in Johannesburg. He won Best Actor for the play The Chain during the Windybrow Arts Festival 1996 and the Creativity Excellence Award with the M.U.K.A Project for the play GIFT at
the Source Theatre Festival in Washington DC, USA in 1998. The play was written and directed by Talliep Pietersen of District Six, Cape Town and Roy Barber of Washington DC, USA. He has performed with the M.U.K.A Project at the Day Of An African Child at the UN Assembly in New York City, USA, and at the prestigious Evangeliche Kirchentag at the Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart, Germany in 1999. He was invited to perform at the World EXPO 2000 in Hannover, Germany in 2000. He has performed on stage with Salif Keita and Oliver Mtukudzi at the opening of the London Eye in London, UK in the same year. Together with the M.U.K.A Project he has performed 9 stage plays in Austria,
Bulgaria, Botswana, Denmark, England, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Mozambique, Poland, Russia, Switzerland, Scotland, Slovenia, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe. He has written and directed 11 internationally toured theatre productions.
