Josias Dos Moleele
Josias Moleele is a theatre/television writer, actor and director. He began his career in 1993 at Tshwane University of Technology drama department; after receiving his B-Tech degree in drama he became the 1st black lecturer at the same institution and taught scriptwriting, acting and directing.

In 1997, Josias left the institution to become an educator at Waterkloof Preparatory School. In 1998 he left the classroom to pursue his dreams of being a writer and director. He wrote and directed lots of theatre productions including “Call Us Crazy” performed at the Market Theatre and won 3 Vita Awards. Another accolade was his powerful dance musical “Tapsula” also performed at the Market Theatre, won the ‘Naledi Award’.

His television work includes directing a sitcom for SABC 1 called Nomzamo. He presented the wildlifeprogram for SABC 2 called 50/50 and refereed in ‘Crazy Games’ – a variety program for the same channel. He currently enjoys being Miles Vilakazi’s lawyer on ‘Rhythm City’. Drawn into reality T.V. He has researched and directed few documentaries for SABC 1 and 2. He appeared in numerous commercials including ‘Debonairs’, ‘Spar’, ‘Pampers’, ‘Five Roses’, to name but a few. He appeared in 2 international movies – ‘Invictus’ directed by Clint Eastwood and a BBC television series ‘Strike Back’. He also appeared in a local film by Leon Schuster ‘Mr. Bones 2’ and the upcoming ‘Land of Milk and Money’.

In 2000, he went into the corporate sector and introduced corporate theatre to a lot of companies including Harmony mines, Kloof and Sasol amongst others. In 2003, he collaborated with Dr. Mark Rittenberg from Berkeley, California and they introduced Active Communicating training workshops to corporate South Africa. He had since started his consulting company Dos Productions focusing on training and motivational speaking. He’s also worked with the International Marketing Council to help create brand ambassadors for brand South Africa. He recently trained 85 public schools principals in a leadership training workshop in St. Louis, Missouri (USA).

Josias is very adventurous, not only did he do film inserts for 50/50, meaning he was up close and personal with the wild animals. He is pursuing scuba diving and will soon be swimming with the sharks. Presently Josias is studying towards his Masters degree in drama and has since left TUT Musical Theatre to start his own Arts Academy. He is an author of a motivational book “Doing the Usual in the Unusual way” which is available as an eBook soon to be published.

Mdu Nhlapo
Mdu Nhlapo is a Soshanguve-based award winning choreographer, theatre director, writer and performer, as well as the co-founder and Artistic Director of Great Stone Productions. His interest in the arts began at a young age, when he was a member of community groups performing traditional dances and township theater. With a strong desire to improve his art and turn his love into a career, he enrolled at the University of Pretoria and earned an Honors Degree in Drama and Film Studies, majoring in five areas: physical theatre, performance, and teaching, directing, acting, and research. With honors in directing, physical theatre training, and performance, he obtained his accolades at Tuks.

Mdu Nhlapo’s university work and subsequent professional work has included numerous appearances in professional productions in which he collaborated with well-known choreographers and theatre makers in the industry, including producing and directing his poignant dance production KIU for The South African State Theatre in 2017, which was part of the Main program at The National Arts Festival in Makhanda 2018. Mdu Nhlapo’s work explores spiritual and
sociopolitical themes while pursuing an avant-garde, ground-breaking theatre aesthetic as a means of resurrecting and re-constructing the performing arts.

Mdu Nhlapo boasts leadership and administrative skills in addition to his artistic abilities. He was the associate theatrical company manager for international theatre shows such as Burn the Floor, Saturday Night Fever all in 2016, and Fela and the Kalakuta Queens at the South African State Theatre in the year 2019. He choreographed Aubrey Sekhabi’s Freedom the Musical 2018-19, and was nominated for the Naledi awards for best choreography, which received eight Naledi Theatre Award nominations. He is the author and director of the theatrical satire play Lesilo Rula, which was included in Season 5 of The Centre for the Less Good Ideas and honors the legends, Mr. Boikie Moditle Pholo (Raithlwana). With his physical theatre piece “11minutes Before Assassination” with Lulu Mlangeni and an epic politically motivated visceral solo show Escape, Mdu Nhlapo introduced a muscular style to theatre-making.

In 2019, he is the recipient of Naledi awards best choreography for the award-winning Angola Camp 13 by Sello Maseko, and in the same year, he choreographed spectacle in the production Kwanele, commissioned by the Department of Arts and Culture for the Biennale Festival in Luanda, Angola, and curated by Mr. Aubrey Sekhabi, Artistic Director of the South African State Theatre, in response to xenophobic attacks and gender. He collaborated with Jerry Poe on a play in Durban about South Africa’s most significant historical event, the 16th of June 1976.

In April 2021, he played at the South Africans State Theatre festival known as Kucheza Dance festival premiering his new offering known as Magnificent 7which was recognized as one of the highlights. He has formed part of this year’s Dubai expo. The South African State Theatre is in collaboration with his company great stone productions where they will be representing South Africa showcasing pantsula dance. Mr. Nhlapo is currently working with Sello Maseko on Askari as a writer and choreographer, which will be exhibited at the South African State theatre from the 23rd of November.

Tshepo Matlala
Tshepo Matlala also known as “Mzansi’s number one Mr Bean”, born and bred in the streets of Tembisa (East Rand), is a recent graduate of the Market Theatre Laboratory. He is a Theatre Maker, Actor, Writer, Director and a Comedian who has skills in Clowning, Miming and Physical Comedy.
Tshepo is a funny guy who enjoys comedy and clowning, his approach to work always comes from the spirit of playfulness. It is his belief that the world is way too beautiful to be serious all the time and that to make magic transpires from learning the mastery of balancing tragedy with comedy.
Highlights from his work experience include; directing Blink – a digital performance by the Market Laboratory 2nd year students, he is also a writer and director of The Regular Post – a social media sketch and satirical comedy news series with Phillip M Dikotla. He is part of the Naledi Theatre Awards winning ensemble productions; No Easter Sunday For
Queers directed by Mwenya Kabwe and Eclipsed directed by Sylvaine Strike in collaboration with Phumlani Mndebele and Gina Shmukler and was also featured on Mzansi Awards directed by Jefferson Tshabalala. Subsequently to his graduation at the Market Lab, he landed a role of ‘Mashobane’ on Mzansi Magic’s feature film – Manong and a lead role as “Toffolux” on Mzansi Magic’s Feature film – Skanda Love produced by LeburugraphyPictures and has left many
audiences in awe of his brilliant performance.

SIBUSISO DAVID NDUMNDUM
Sibusiso started his involvement in the entertainment industry back in 1996 as a performer in Sebokeng in the community theatre group. He later then went to study drama at the Market Theatre Laboratory for two years in 1999-2000. After completing his studies, he became a trainee Stage Manager at the Market Theatre Foundation in 2001-2003 and after that he was a freelancer. He started to be the lighting designer for a show called Karohano which toured Europe and the Middle East.
In 2014, he started working for the Market Theatre Foundation as the Venue Technician and also as a lighting designer for numerous shows such as South Venturing North, Noord (Adelade Tambo award winner), Hani the Legacy (Naledi award winner) and The Little Prince.

Shilongane Nkoana – Set designer
I am a creative artist. I am currently working at the University of Pretoria, UP Arts Department. I grew up in Polokwane but would always go to my grandmother in the village and that is where I get my inspiration. Since I was in Pro Arte Alphen Park High School, studying fine arts, painting, drawing and sculpture I would get inspiration from nature. I have been designing since I finished my degree in set designing at the Tshwane University of Technology; I have Honours degree in theatre design at the Wits School of the Arts. I have designed for a plays like “Dikakapa” at the Market theatre, and That night of trance, State Theatre, and Isithunzi, Market Theatre. Milked Voice which ran at the National Arts Festival won a Standard Bank Ovation Award.
I am honoured to be part of this wonderful aesthetic show KAK! as I believe it is amazing and historic play.
Art Theatre is my first love…and designing is my passion.

NOMZAMO MASEKO
Nomzamo Maseko is a creative in the field of costume design and make-up. She currently serves as a wardrobe manager at the University of Pretoria’s school of Arts under the drama department. Nomzamo Maseko is responsible for the supervision of the wardrobe as well as manufacturing, sourcing and hiring of costumes for the drama department’s productions. She has worked in various theatre and television/film productions. She obtained a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Entertainment Technology at the Tshwane University of Technology specialising in Costumes and Make-Up. She is currently pursuing her Honours studies in Arts, Culture and Heritage Management at Wits. Her focus is to develop, grow and inspire within the arts as she believes that it has more to offer if people see beyond their reach.
