The Prince of Bantustan – (one-man stand-up special)
Vafa Naraghi found his truest self on the streets of Mahikeng. Born and brought up in South Africa to immigrant parents, his most authentic version of self did not align with his Persian heritage, but rather with local people and languages spoken by the Bantu people of South Africa. This has translated into a brand of comedy that is peppered with poignantly-used vernac and tones that resonate with the hearts of mother-tongue speakers across the country, interwoven with hilarious tales about his Persian roots. It’s the interchange between these different worlds that make his story unique.
The Prince of Bantustan is Naraghi’s first hand account of how these cultures have collided and merged through him. His story is like no other.
